Morningstar Rating for funds

The Morningstar rating for funds, often called the star rating, is the data-driven rating that measures how well a fund has performed compared to similar funds. It is a purely quantitative, backward-looking measure of a fund’s past performance, measured from one to five stars. Morningstar Medalist Rating

The Morningstar Medalist Rating brings the best thinking across our qualitative and quantitative research functions into one view. This replaces the former Morningstar Analyst Rating and Morningstar Quantitative Rating in favor of an all-encompassing and forward-looking rating that’s ideal for due-diligence workflows and strategies.  See an overview of Morningstar Medalist Ratings’ key features, or visit the Morningstar Medalist Rating FAQ for data point definitions and other detailed information.
