Troubleshooting your linked accounts

Sometimes institutions use different login URLs for their banking, brokerage, and 401(k) accounts. If multiple options appear when you're searching for your financial institution, double-check the web addresses listed and select the one you use when logging directly into their site.

If you continue to experience issues with connecting your account, you may need to try again later in the day, as financial institutions sometimes temporarily limit the number of connections allowed to their site.

Data protection for linked accounts

The link account feature is powered by our ByAllAccounts division, which runs portfolio import features for several companies and advisors. ByAllAccounts employs industry-leading technologies and policies to protect the confidentiality and privacy of each user’s financial and personal data, and encrypts all personal user information whenever it is transmitted or stored. Additionally, Morningstar performs security checks on its employees and has implemented internal controls regarding sensitive information, and the company vigilantly updates its systems to stay at the forefront of security, privacy, and continuity protection.
