-- Seven & i Holdings, the Japanese operator of 7-Eleven convenience stores and other retail chains, is mulling a takeover offer from Canadian convenience store operator Alimentation Couche-Tard, Nikkei newspaper reported Monday, citing multiple sources with knowledge of the matter.
-- The Nikkei said Seven & i has set up a committee to examine the offer, including the valuation and whether the deal would contribute to the retail group's growth.
-- A Seven & i spokesman said the Nikkei report was not based on information released by the company and declined to make further comments.
