Eversource Energy has returned to its roots as a mostly rate-regulated distribution utility in the Northeast after exiting a multiyear effort to help develop the first round of large offshore wind projects in the US.
Eversource raised its dividend to $2.86 per share annualized for 2024, maintaining a string of 6% dividend increases that we think can continue for several more years.
High energy prices in the Northeast can lead regulators to allow lower infrastructure returns, which would depress Eversource's earnings growth.
