Company Report

JDE Peet's Brands Remain Strong, but Europe Share Losses a Concern

With its advantageous exposure to the coffee and tea markets and alignment with current consumer trends, JDE Peet's enjoys an edge over many of its competitors that are working to optimise their brand portfolios. We believe the company can continue to be one of the drivers of the ongoing consolidation of the coffee sector while delivering solid returns, thanks to its established supply chain position, brand strength, and durable cost advantage.

Bulls Say, Bears Say

Bulls

JDE Peet’s is the second-largest coffee maker in the world (behind Nestle) in a fragmented industry, which opens up plenty of growth opportunities ahead.

Bears

The group’s exposure to high-growth and less penetrated emerging markets is still lower than some of its competitors, with considerable investments required to establish a leading position.
