Brett Kozlowski, a comanager on Putnam Mortgage Securities Fund since 2011, departed the firm on Sept. 30, while Paul Varunok and Neil Dhruv joined the management roster. The strategy maintains continuity, as industry veteran and longtime lead manager Michael Salm remains, as does comanager Jatin Misra, who has worked alongside Salm on this strategy since 2017. Varunok and Dhruv are Franklin Templeton veterans with more than three decades of experience, and this reshuffling of the portfolio management squad is a part of a broader realignment of teams between Franklin Templeton and Putnam after Franklin’s early 2024 acquisition of Putnam. These developments don’t change the strategy’s Average People and Below Average Process ratings.
