Universal Music To Distribute HYBE Music
By Ben Glickman
Universal Music Group has struck a deal to distribute music from K-pop-focused music label HYBE for the next decade.
Universal Music and HYBE said Tuesday that Universal Music would also collaborate with HYBE's fan-engagement platform Weverse as part of the deal.
The two companies first worked together in 2017 through a distribution agreement in Japan for K-pop group BTS.
Universal Music, the world's largest music company, and HYBE will work together on artist promotion and marketing in North America under the direction of Scooter Braun. Braun is the former manager of music stars such as Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber and current chief executive of HYBE America.
