GE HealthCare Taps Amazon Web Services for Generative AI Services
By Dean Seal
GE HealthCare has selected Amazon Web Services to be its strategic cloud provider, with a plan to utilize its healthcare and generative AI services.
The maker of medical machinery said Thursday it is collaborating with Amazon.com's cloud-computing unit to develop new tools and applications for healthcare providers that implement generative AI.
The company plans to specifically use Amazon Bedrock, a managed service that provides access to the healthcare industry's leading foundation models, to deploy custom generative AI applications.
"With AWS, GE HealthCare plans to use the cloud to deliver more personalized, intelligent, and efficient care," AWS Chief Executive Matt Garman said.
GE HealthCare's internal developers are also planning to use Amazon Q Developer, a generative AI-powered assistant, to accelerate software development by generating real-time code suggestions and completing other tasks.
