Citic Posts Flat First-Half Profit
By Jiahui Huang
Citic reported flat net profit in the first half of the year, as higher sales of goods helped offset lower interest income.
The Chinese state-owned investment company's net profit was 32.11 billion yuan, equivalent to $4.52 billion, compared with 32.09 billion yuan a year earlier.
First-half revenue rose 13% to 377.65 billion yuan, while interest income fell 1.4% to 167.34 billion yuan, it said Friday.
Citic's sales of goods and services rose to 241.04 billion yuan from 197.17 billion yuan.
The company declared an interim dividend of 0.19 yuan a share.
