Campbell Soup sells Pop Secret popcorn business to Our Home
By Paul Ziobro
Campbell Soup has sold its Pop Secret popcorn brand to the snack company Our Home for an undisclosed amount.
The Camden, N.J.-based soup-and-snack company said Monday that Pop Secret had sales of about $120 million in fiscal 2024. The sale is going to trim Campbell's per-share earnings by about 4 cents in fiscal 2025, reflecting the timing of a transition service agreement and cost actions.
Campbell (CPB) acquired Pop Secret in 2018 when it bought Snyder's-Lance for $6.1 billion, including debt, part of a plan to boost its snacking business. Chris Foley, president of Campbell's snacks, said the sale represents another step to focus its snacking business.
Our Home, based in Boonton, N.J., owns food brands including Food Should Taste Good and Popchips.
Campbell is scheduled to report its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings on Thursday.
