Sinclair's Diamond Sports Extends Distribution Deal with Charter Communications
By Ben Glickman
Sinclair-owned Diamond Sports Group extended its distribution deal with Charter Communications, giving Spectrum customers access to the company's regional sports networks.
Southport, Conn.-based Diamond, which owns sports channels under the Bally banner, said the extension was for multiple years.
Under the agreement, customers with Charter's Spectrum TV Select Plus package will have access to Diamond's channels. Those customers can also stream Diamond's content in the Bally Sports app.
Diamond Chief Executive David Preschlack said the company believed the deal could be a model for ongoing negotiations with other distribution partners.
