IndiGo Orders 30 Airbus A350-900 Aircraft in Push for International Expansion
By Mauro Orru
InterGlobe Aviation, best known as IndiGo, placed an order for 30 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, betting on wide-body jets to expand its international network with long-haul destinations.
The low-cost Indian airline didn't disclose financial details for the order on Thursday, but said it had purchase rights for an additional 70 Airbus A350 aircraft at its discretion.
IndiGo currently operates more than 350 aircraft. The deal comes almost a year after the carrier agreed to buy 500 Airbus jets in the largest ever single aircraft order by any airline with the European plane maker.
Deliveries for the latest order are expected to start from 2027.
