AT&T reports 'nationwide issue' affecting calls between carriers

By Josh Beckerman

AT&T mobile customers have reported problems making phone calls on Tuesday, according to AT&T responses to customers on X, media reports and Downdetector.

In one reply on X, AT&T (T) said "There is a nationwide issue that is affecting the ability of customers to complete calls between carriers. The carriers are working as quickly as possible to diagnose and resolve the issue."

In February, AT&T apologized for a cell service outage that hit thousands of its customers. That incident left people around the country without cellphone service for hours. A company spokesman said in February that the outage was caused by "an incorrect process used as we were expanding our network," and that it wasn't the result of a cyberattack.
