BASF Sales, Earnings Miss Forecasts on Lower Margins, Write-Downs

BASF preliminary sales and earnings figures for 2023 that are both below the company's guidance and consensus expectations.
The German chemicals giant said Friday that its results for last year were hurt by write-downs on its surface technologies, agricultural and materials segments as well as by sales of lower-margin products.
