EQT Submits Bid for Grant Thornton's U.K. Operations - Sky News Reports
--EQT earlier this week submitted an indicative offer for a big stake in the U.K. operations of British accountancy firm Grant Thornton, Sky News reports.
--Swedish buy-out group EQT joins a list of bidders that includes Carlyle, Cinven, CVC Capital Partners and Permira who submitted bids ahead of a deadline earlier week, while Nordic Capital is also said to have considered an offer, according to Sky News.
--A deal could value Grant Thornton's U.K. arm at between 1 billion and 2 billion pounds ($1.31 billion-$2.62 billion), Sky News says, citing industry sources.
--EQT didn't immediately respond to a request for comment when contacted by Dow Jones Newswires.
