EVgo, General Motors to Collab, Deploy 400 Charging Stalls Across U.S.
By Denny Jacob
Electric-vehicle charging company EVgo and carmaker General Motors will collaborate to deploy 400 fast charging stalls in major metropolitan areas across the U.S.
The first flagship location is expected to open in 2025, according to the companies. Most flagship stations are expected to feature up to 20 stalls while select locations will have an even higher figure, an effort aimed at reducing barriers that come with EV adoption.
Flagships, which will be co-branded by EVgo and GM Energy, will be deployed in metropolitan areas in states such as Arizona, California, Michigan, New York and Texas.
In addition to the agreement to build flagship locations, EVgo and GM continue to collaborate on their plan to build a total of 2,850 DC fast charging stalls, with funding reallocated to deliver premium charging experiences for EV drivers at flagship locations.
