Indivior Says UK High Court Strikes Claims Against It and Reckitt Benckiser
By Christian Moess Laursen
Indivior said the U.K. high court has removed securities claims against the company and Reckitt Benckiser in separate legal cases regarding misleading statements.
The U.K.-listed pharmaceutical company said Tuesday that the High Court of Justice of England and Wales has granted Indivior and Reckitt Benckiser's applications to strike the claims, which would have permitted an attempt to prove violation of law without proof of damages by a representative of the claimants.
The suit was made by Wirral Council, as administering authority of Merseyside Pension fund.
In September, Wirral filed a claim that Indivior had made misleading or dishonest statements regarding an alleged fraudulent scheme to the market for its Suboxone-branded products in published information relating to securities.
Wirral and other claimants separately filed a multi-party action alleging the same claims against consumer-goods company Reckitt Benckiser Group.
