9:53 ET--Bayer is one of the most mentioned companies in the U.S. across all news items in the past 12 hours, according to Factiva data. A court lowered the amount Bayer-owned Monsanto has to pay in a case linked to the weedkiller Roundup by about 82%, or nearly $1.9 billion, from the earlier order to pay $2.25 billion in damages.
