By Nina Kienle

Siemens said it is investing 100 million euros ($108.1 million) in additional production capacity at its switchgear plant in Frankfurt, Germany.

The German technology conglomerate on Thursday said it acquired an area with existing buildings, with the production of gas-insulated switchgear to begin at the beginning of 2025.

The plant is part of Siemens's smart infrastructure division and will create up to 400 new jobs by 2027, it said.
