German Stocks Fall Tuesday
Stocks in Germany slipped Tuesday, as the DAX fell 0.8% to 18177.62.
Among large companies, Merck KGaA posted the largest decline, dropping 5.7%, followed by shares of HelloFresh SE, which dropped 5.5%. Shares of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE fell 4.6%.
Eckert & Ziegler Strahlen- und Medizintechnik AG was the biggest gainer during the session, surging 7.2%, and Nemetschek SE surged 3.3%. EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG rounded out the top three movers on Tuesday, as shares gained 2.9%.
In other parts of Europe, indexes fell, with the FTSE 100 Index falling 0.4% and the STOXX Europe 600 Index dropping 0.2% from the previous close.
On the currency front, the WSJ Dollar Index increased 0.2% to 100.31. Against the dollar, the euro fell 0.3% to $1.07.
In the bond markets, the German 10-year bund declined 1.13 basis points to 2.411%, and 10-year U.S. Treasury yields rose 0.02 basis point to 4.255%.
