GE gets $1.1 billion U.S. Army contract for turbine engines

GE Aerospace's (GE) General Electric of Lynn, Mass., received a $1.1 billion firm-fixed-price contract to provide T700 series turbine engines to the U.S. Army, the Pentagon said.

The T700 series engines powers such aircraft as the Sikorsky H-60 Black Hawk and the Boeing AH-64 Longbow Apache, among others.

Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, the Pentagon said Wednesday.
